Facing significant changes to VMware’s licensing and cost model, Golden Plains Shire Council undertook a reassessment of its virtualisation platform to ensure long term financial sustainability and risk control. This session presents a practical local government case study exploring the drivers for change, the evaluation of Proxmox as an alternative, and a risk managed migration approach designed to protect service continuity.
