This webinar is for ALGIM Council / CCO members only.
AI is changing the skills councils need—but building capability does not require a one-size-fits-all approach.
Join ALGIM and Synapsys to explore a new certified AI training offer designed for the varied needs of local government. With flexible learning pathways covering different roles and levels of experience, councils of all sizes can build practical AI capability in a way that aligns with their people, priorities and resources.
ALGIM will share the local government context behind the offer and how it connects with the wider AI capability journey for councils. Synapsys will introduce the available certifications and explain the course content, learning experience, access arrangements and support provided.
You will leave with a clearer understanding of:
* the AI certifications and learning pathways available
* which courses may suit different council roles and teams
* how the flexible delivery model works
* the support available throughout the learning journey
* how to take the next step for yourself, your team or your council.
There will also be time to ask questions and explore which pathway may be right for you.

Barbara Whitton
CX Lead
ALGIM
Barb Whitton grew up in small-town New Zealand and, as one of five children, quickly learned how to step forward, try new things and find her voice. Sport played a big role in her early years, where she developed leadership skills and a strong foundation in teamwork, problem-solving and working with people.
She later found her professional home in the local government sector, working across library, technical, community and management roles in three different councils. These experiences have given her a broad understanding of the sector and a passion for serving communities.
Barb is especially proud of building high-performing teams, developing strong relationships with colleagues and communities, and delivering results that make a difference.
She is currently the Customer Experience Lead at ALGIM, where she continues to support councils across Aotearoa New Zealand
