A Web Standards Workshop is on offer at the 2011 Annual ALGIM Conference at Bayview Wairakei Resort, Taupo.
Due to interest within the sector, ALGIM have decided to incorporate a web standards workshop held in conjunction with the 2011 Annual ALGIM Conference on Monday 21 November.
The workshop, held on Monday 21 November 2011, will be run by Will Huthnance, Senior Web Specialist at the Department of Internal Affairs and works in the area of New Zealand Government Web Standards.
This workshop will be directed at web content creators / web teams within Local Government (documents & CMS users).
Topics covered over three sessions include:
- Introduction to Web Standards.
- Managing third-party web development companies to ensure web standards compliance of ALGIM websites.
- The web content publication process.
- How to create accessible MS Word and PDF files.
- Common problem areas of web accessibility and how to overcome them.
- Summary of workshop followed by a question and answer session.
Please Note: The workshop will not be targeted at web developers; therefore workshop sessions will not have a heavy code-centric focus.
