James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, Wellington
Nominations now open for the 2012 ALGIM GIS Awards!
The Association of Local Government Information Management (ALGIM) is proud to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 ALGIM GIS awards. The awards programme recognises best practice in GIS amongst New Zealand local authorities and consists of a GIS Professional Development Award and GIS Project of the Year Award.
Your support through entry in these awards is crucial to their success and we have endeavoured to keep the entry process simple. All councils can enter the awards by completing an entry / nomination form and sending in their entry before close of business on Friday 9 March.
Guidelines and information about the awards along with entry forms are available online at the ALGIM Website under the Awards Section. The entry / nomination form for each award contains further details on the award process and what you can expect to happen after your entry / nomination has been submitted.
Three finalists for the GIS Project of the Year Award will present their case studies as part of the Symposium programme.
The winner of the ALGIM GIS Professional Development Award 2012 will be given the opportunity to attend the spatial@gov2012 Conference in Canberra, Australia.
The judging panel for the awards will consist of a member of the ALGIM Executive Committee and industry specialists with local government GIS knowledge and experience.
The awards will be announced and presented at the 2012 ALGIM GIS Symposium on the evening of April 2. The awards will be celebrated with a formal dinner and live entertainment.
