2012 ALGIM Records Management Symposium Information Professionals: the life blood of organisations

ALGIM is excited to have Matt Lawrey as the MC for the 2012 ALGIM Records Management Symposium. Matt was the MC for the 2011 ALGIM Customer Services Symposium and we received such amazing feedback, we've asked him to return for our Records Management Symposium!
When it comes to the media you’d be hard pressed to find someone who has crammed as much into his career as Matt Lawrey.
An award winning radio host and a newspaper journalist, Matt also co-presented two series of Business Is Booming on TV ONE and spent three years as a presenter of TV2’s live Lotto draw. Over the years he has interviewed hundreds of the country’s most interesting and influential people and recently launched The Little Things, a new cartoon on the highs and lows of parenting. Inspired by Matt’s experiences as a father of two, The Little Things appears in newspapers both here and in Australia and on stuff.co.nz. It is also about to be launched in the UK and will be subject of a book coming out in August.

Matt has also worked in event management and was the co-ordinator of the Nelson Sculpture Symposium for four years. Originally from Wellington, Matt considers himself a naturalised Nelsonian and over the years has MC-ed everything from the region’s Bride of the Year Pageant to the National Architecture Awards.
Matt has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history from Victoria University, Wellington and a Diploma of Journalism from Auckland University of Technology.
