Ransomware Webinar

When ALGIM predicted in an article for Local Government Magazine that cybersecurity would be one of the biggest threats to local government this year, no one was expecting a cyber-attack on the scale of the Wannacry ransomware. Infecting over 200,000 systems in just four days, it brought many networks to a standstill.

The challenge that we face is that stopping ransomware is not only a technological problem, but also a social/behavioural problem. The chink in the armour for many security systems is a cleverly crafted communication that convinces an unwitting staff member to help the attacker evade security controls.

Partnering with Kaon Security, we have arranged a series of information sharing events, beginning with a webinar, to keep our local government members up-to-date with the latest thinking on ransomware and cyber-security.

This webinar will analyse the different ransomware attacks of the last few years and provide practical advice on how to improve your security to combat these attacks in the future.
