New Accessibility Software on ALGIM Site

Friday 10 February 2017

Browsealoud Software

We have recently added to our website Browsealoud software, which offers speech, reading and translation support. We want to ensure our content is assessible by everyone, including those with visual impairments, reading disorders or for whom English is a second language.

If you want to make use of Browsealoud while on our site, just click on the ear symbol (in a white circle) in the upper right-hand corner of this website. It will give you further options for reading aloud selected text (or entire pages), translating text, generating text to MP3 files, simplifying pages for easier reading, or applying a screen mask to hide excess content you aren't currently reading.

We hope those of you who need it find this of use, and our thanks to Desktop Technology Services Limited (DTSL) Hamilton for supplying us with this software!
