This award aims to recognise individuals who have displayed excellent potential within local government GIS.
The award recognises that people are an important asset in adding value to an organisation and to the achievement of its goals. ALGIM is seeking nominations for GIS staff at all levels.
The recipient of this award will have the opportunity to undertake professional development in order to enhance their career and the skills they have to offer their Council by attending an established international GIS conference. The chosen conference for 2012 is spatial@gov2012, 20 - 22 November 2012 in Canberra, Australia.
Nominees for the 2012 ALGIM GIS Professional Development Award need to be an employee of a local authority throughout the entire duration of the award process. This includes the time of the 2012 ALGIM GIS Symposium and the spatial@gov2012 Conference to maintain eligibility. The award prize is non transferable should the recipient no longer be an employee of a local authority.
The nominator needs to explain, briefly (between 500 – 700 words, bullet points accepted) why the nominee should be considered for the 2012 ALGIM GIS Professional Development Award.
The judging panel’s decision shall be deemed final.
