The Supreme Website Award is judged by ALGIM and is a non-nomination award. The results for this award are based on an evaluation of participating New Zealand council websites against New Zealand Government Web Standards (self assessment), ALGIM's Self Assessment Council Website Survey (snapshot of the sector select functionality questions), RNZFB testing of an accessibility feature on each Council website and Enquiry Response Testing (conducted by ALGIM). The New Zealand Government Web Standards are sourced from documentation supplied from the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA).
To be eligible for consideration for the Supreme Website Award your Council is required to complete the following:
- ALGIM Self Assessment Survey on Web Standards WCAG 2.0 (as per 2013)
- ALGIM Self Assessment Council Website Survey (snapshot of the sector select functionality questions)
- RNZFB testing of an accessibility feature on each Council website (completed by RNZFB)
- Response time to website query from customer (completed by ALGIM)
Links to the WCAG 2.0 and Web Snapshot surveys inviting all local authorities to participate will be distributed via email during the week of 10 February 2014, and will be open for completion until mid-April 2014.
Overall rankings published by ALGIM will highlight all Councils, including those that did not complete the ‘Self-Assessment Surveys’.
