"Building Tomorrow’s ICT Foundations Today"
Welcome to the ALGIM website, your number one online tool for information and resources designed to support best practice within local government ICT.
ALGIM aims to support its valued members by:
- representing council ICT issues and interests to central government, businesses and other industry groups
- developing tools and resources that not only assist council ICT managers throughout New Zealand with day-to-day operations, but also keep you abreast of international ICT developments and opportunities
- providing a forum for networking, education and information sharing – particularly through the Annual ALGIM Conference and a yearly nationwide symposium programme
This website is an essential service for ALGIM’s members, providing an up-to-date point of reference for our activities

Terms for Councils is a controlled vocabulary that can be used across councils as a standard way of referring to functions, activities and services/actions.
This controlled vocabulary makes it easier to access and share information regardless of the fact that various council teams and business units use different language and systems to create and manage their information.
