Welcome

Welcome to the ALGIM website, your online tool for information and resources to support your Council IT activities.

ALGIM aims to support its members through:

  • representing Council IT issues and interests to central government, businesses and other industry groups
  • developing tools and resources that not only assist Council IT managers throughout New Zealand with day-to-day operations but keep you abreast of international developments and opportunities within the world of IT
  • providing a forum for education, sharing and networking – particularly through the ALGIM annual conference and through a yearly nationwide seminar programme.

ALGIM executives view this website as an essential service to its members, providing an up-to-date point of reference for ALGIM’s activities.

ALGIM E-Democracy Survey

One of our major initiatives for 2009 is to produce a whitepaper and roadmap on "E-democracy for NZ Local Government". We have enlisted the help of Carol Hayward (formerly from Bristol City Council who is a leader in this field) and is currently working for Rodney District Council along with a dedicated team from ALGIM.

We kindly ask for your assistance to complete the survey which will take approximately 15 minutes. You may wish to consult with other parts of your organisation who are involved with public engagement processes. Completing this survey will ensure that we have the best possible baseline for local government and we hope to have the final report released at the 29th ALGIM Annual Conference in November this year.
